An auto insurance review

March 8th, 2012 § 0 comments § permalink

Being in the automotive industry we at Dream Shield understand how important it is to find good, honest and reliable auto insurance, especially when there are so many different companies out there. Yet, there is one one insurance company that we do admire and trust; it’s a company that is on the road with you…it’s the award winning British RAC.

Why do we like the RAC, well it has 115 years of motoring experience, which is more than any other breakdown organisation.  We love the fact that it actually campaigns on behalf of motorists and importantly it is there for us as drivers; every seven seconds someone somewhere calls the RAC Breakdown.

What we at Dream Shield believe is that a good auto insurance provider would offer cover that looks after all the bases of protection; which means not just covering the primary concerns but the little things that we are too busy to miss. So, we believe that the RAC does just that, making it not just a good auto insurance provider but a great one! I mean if you are a Blue Badge Holder the RAC will actually make alternative travel arrangements for you by taxi, train or plane or give you a replacement car for up to three days if you car breakdown. Now that is incredible, relaible service, taking out the stress of breaking down and getting to where you need to be.

We know that car breakdowns can be very costly, it’s our business, and unless you have breakdown cover with a trusted and reliable breakdown service; it gets exactly that Expensive. The RAC is an auto insurance company that offers very flexible covers that are created to suit us as drivers and our lives. They offer short term insurance; day- by-day with no hassle to those of us who may not keep a vehicle for long; who may want to pay just for the month or if we need the insurance just for a few days or weeks.

What we really think is cool about the RAC is that it is an auto insurance company that actually thinks of our families, including our pets and provides seat belts for your pets if they ever pick you up… this is great service and we know if we were driving in the UK or in Europe we would want this auto insurance company with us on the road with its cool orange van!

Aston Martin’s New Vantage GT3 Racer replaces DBR9

2012 Aston Martin Vantage GT3

Dream Shield Auto has picked up the latest and exciting car news about Aston Martin Racing, who announced on April 13, 2011 details about the new Vantage GT3 race car. The Vantage GT3 is based on the V12 Vantage road car and aims to be ready for 2012; which will be right on schedule for the Dream Shield Auto rally scheduled for 2012 in Las Vegas.

The new Vantage GT3 replaces the DBRS9 which was originally launched in 2006 at Le Mans, which has seen 26 chassis built and raced to multiple victories in national and international series worldwide. The new Vantage GT3 joins the series of the Vantage GT2, GT4, DBR9 GT1 and the AMR-One LMP1; creating the largest and most comprehensive range of Aston Martin race cars to date.

Now for some car talk…The Vantage GT3 is designed to FIA regulations and will be built around the Vantage aluminium VH architecture with a lightweight dry-sumped 6.0 litre V12 engine; which is based on the V12 Vantage road car. The new car will have a race semi-automatic paddle shift Xtrac gearbox and the latest race-developed ABS and traction control systems, optimised for the Vantage GT3.

It’s expected that the first car will be completed in July 2011, undertaking rigorous testing as well as development for the rest of 2011. Dream Shield Auto hopes to be working closely with Aston Martin Racing and have ten if not more customised cars, all ready for its 2012 Rally.

The Community Car Story Page

March 8th, 2011 § 2 comments § permalink

With your help, I want to create a community car story page on the Dream Shield website…I would love to receive and hear your personal stories about restorations, dodgy car deals and just fun quips relating to classic or vintage cars.

You may own an older car, or perhaps a fleet of classics? Either way I would like to hear your story and not just if you are in the US, but wherever you may be in the world – the UK, Australia, Canada, Dubai, Africa, Germany…

You may just have a plain old weird tale to tell with a motoring theme to it? All Dream Shield’s needs is your ‘okay’ to have your story published on this site and share it with other motoring enthusiasts. What I hope is that we will build a social car story sharing experience for us all to enjoy and learn from.

So, if this sounds good to you, then please get in touch! Just submit your story from the contacts page. Here are some ideas to get your story-telling juices going:

  • Restoration stories
  • Driving holidays or driving abroad
  • Racing in sprints or motor club events in the 1950s/60s/70s
  • Buying a classic today and finding that is was a lemon
  • Your first love…you first car

Looking forward to hearing from you!

Chrysler Super Bowl Ad – A winner

March 8th, 2011 § 0 comments § permalink

Okay, I am going to say something sacrilegious, I didn’t get to watch the Super Bowl, but I did get to see the not one, but two commercials starring Eminem – the rapper, always the underdog who appeals to the downtrodden. Eminem was a great spokesman for this car brand, because he too like all of us in life has had to turn his life around. The Chrysler Super Bowl advertisement on 6 February featuring Eminem was fantastic. It may have been made in Detroit yet it is spurring consumer interest in the automaker’s products. It was thought-provoking, it was hard and boy there was soul in it. It made Chrysler cool.

It drew attention to the Chrysler 200, a compact sedan which replaces the low-selling Chrysler Sebring. Mike Hogue, General Sales Manager, Windsor Chrysler, said after the Super Bowl Thursday, “Before the ad there hadn’t been the interest in the Chrysler 200 yet; this car was brand new and had just hit the market. After the ad ran, we started receiving a lot more calls and inquiries. Now all of a sudden this jump-started the whole intrigue into the vehicle.” At Chrysler Canada, LouAnn Gosse credited the commercial with a “dramatic spike” in traffic on the company’s website the day after the ad ran and says, “We got 100,000 hits, specifically to the Chrysler 200 page. Our monthly average hits total about 1.2 million a month, which translates to 40,000 a day.” According to Nielsen Media Research, the third quarter of the Super Bowl is the most-watched US television program. I leave you with the ad itself:
